Henry Beck Appointed Chair of the CBA's Business Law Section, Executive Committee
Henry M. Beck, Jr., a partner in the Halloran & Sage Transactional Department and leader of the Mergers and Acquisitions and Securities Law Practice Groups, was recently appointed Chair of the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association ("CBA").
The Business Law Section aims to inform CBA members and advise the Connecticut General Assembly on matters of business and securities law.
Mr. Beck reports that the Executive Committee is slated to have a very active agenda this year involving the presentation to the state legislature of a Connecticut version of the Model Entity Transactions Act and new amendments to the Connecticut Business Corporation Act, concerning electronic communications, as well as studies of changes to the Connecticut Nonstock Corporations Act and the merits of Low Profit Limited Liability Companies, L3C's.
Mr. Beck states "It will be an exciting year that will provide opportunities for many members of the CBA Business Law Section to do their small part in promoting a business friendly environment in the state to assist economic development."
