Jeffrey F. Gostyla
Attorney Gostyla has a considerable amount of litigation experience in the state and federal courts in a broad range of practice areas including insurance law, commercial law, probate law and criminal defense. In a recent jury trial before the New Britain Superior Court, he obtained a defendants' verdict in an insurance coverage case that involved claims of nearly $200,000 against an insurer under the direct action statute. In a jury trial before the Waterbury Superior Court (Complex Litigation Docket), he obtained a verdict of over $500,000 on behalf of his client in a commercial dispute involving claims of breach of contract. Jeff is also an experienced appellate litigator and is a member of the firm's Appellate Law Group.
In 2004, Attorney Gostyla was selected to receive the Connecticut Law Tribune's New Leaders of the Law award. The New Leaders of the Law awards honor attorneys admitted to the Bar for ten years or less who have made important contributions to their profession and their communities.
